Penstemons And Herbs Nursery logo

Welcome!

Welcome to our plant nursery in Central France.

Hi! I’m Jayne and I own and manage Penstemons and herbs in France Nursery. I live in the beautiful countryside of rural France where Penstemons and Herbs in France is located. It is a small, family run, english speaking nursery offering a range of Penstemons, perennial plants, herbs, trees and ornamental grasses for sale.

Our range of Penstemon varieties offers something different from each Penstemon. We have Penstemons suitable for rockeries, alpine gardens, container growth, early flowering or late flowering,: the diversity of this plant is endless.

Being a lover of herbs, both in the garden and in the home, I have a range of herbs to offer, some of them more unusual. The herbs, as well as being lovely plants in their own right, often are good companion plants, playing a useful role in the garden and vegetable plot. Many are used for crafting and cooking too.

When you buy plants do you care how they are made? We believe that the use of chemicals is largely unnecessary and harmful to the surrounding environment and wildlife. We grow our plants organically, using a range of propagation methods, so you can be sure to buy plants that are contributing to good practice and aiding the fragile eco-systems of our planet.

Many of our plants are award winning, having the RHS award of garden merit (AGM), or are rare and interesting. Our plant list includes plants for every garden and seasonal interest throughout the year.

The plants listed in our shop are plants grown in our gardens, most of which we propagate and offer for sale. Some of the plants listed are for information only as we don’t keep a stock of them but think that they deserve a place, and a mention, as they play an important role in the gardens.

We welcome visits to our gardens to see the plants in situ and enjoy the gardens through the seasons. Visitors are often tempted to buy more plants from us after having a look around the gardens to see how they grow. With this in mind I have tried to give up close pictures and pictures showing a plant in situ wherever possible.

Our passion for plants, flowers and gardening has led us down this very exciting path and we happy to share it with you.

Starting with a blank canvas, an open, uncultivated field of around 5105 square meters, we have developed our gardens to display our plants and flowers, attract wildlife, and have outside space to enjoy.

We are often complimented on our gardens and the displays of colourful flowers and even had them referred to as a “parc” by our french friends and neighbours – high praise indeed!

And, we now have a pond to attract wildlife and hear the sound of running water on a hot summers day.

We are very proud of the garden and take such pleasure in sharing it and our experiences with our visitors.

We grow our plants in an unheated polytunnel which is situated within the main garden and this is where we have the plants for sale. Come and see us and choose your plants direct or browse through our plant pages. We now have a ‘choose by colour’ page that offers a quick view of the plants by the colour of their foliage or flower, handy if you have a particular scheme in mind.

Come along and see us, we’d love to meet you and you may even find something here to take home with you.
